*GREAT DAY, GREAT RACING, also very technical considering the wind shifts, in the first 2 races of the Love Wine Summer series last Sunday. Congratulations to the class winners. Jeremy and Sandrine H16 ‘A’ Fleet, 2 bullets. Andy and Mike Wildcat/Tiger class, 2 bullets. Ollie and Alice Junior Dragoons, 2 bullets. Malin and Joe, Russell and Darren a race a piece H16 ‘B’ Fleet.
TOP MULTIHULL trainer Brian Phipps is on the water as we speak putting the Junior ‘Worlds’ Dragoon squad through their paces. Two great days so far, with masses of interesting info for the participants, including Lake Garda racing. Super conditions for them – Brian always seems to order up the best weather for his visits, it’s happened year after year. It’s a well deserved fish ‘n’ chips at the Club this evening.
URGENT: There is a Wildcat parked on beach area east of Gunsite Café. There is a concession for Beach Loungers there now and the guy is not happy, it’s half term and lots of families and youngsters using the beach. Also a Tiger and H16 are parked wrong side of Gunsite steps east, please move these boats without delay – before there are more complaints working against the Fleet. Boats can be double parked west of steps. Also compound is being cut and cleared and there is still one H16 sitting there which has to be moved, just makes things difficult.
THE COMPOUND TOWER is being cleared and tidied up this Saturday morning. They’ll take a view on stuff that has been sitting there for ages and throw out. If you have anything there you want to keep, best remove it now – apart from the sails!
THOSE WANTING to sell boats – the ‘Open Day’ offers a good chance – needs sails up (doesn’t look anything without) and a price and contact number on it.
